Terms of Use
Last updated: April 9, 2026
Welcome to Corus, a social music-sharing app operated by Corus Media, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By using the Corus app or website at corus.fm ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Corus. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your information up to date. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. You may not create multiple accounts, use automated tools to create accounts, or transfer your account to another person. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that are inactive, misleading, or infringe on trademarks.
3. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you post on Corus, including captions, comments, direct messages, voice notes, and profile information ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Corus Media, Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
Song metadata (track names, artist names, album artwork) displayed in the app is sourced from the Spotify Web API and remains the property of the respective rights holders. Album artwork is displayed under the terms of the Spotify Developer Agreement for the purpose of identifying musical works shared by users. Corus does not stream, host, or distribute music files.
Film and television metadata (titles, release dates, poster images) displayed in the app is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB) API. Poster images and related media remain the property of the respective studios, distributors, and rights holders. This content is displayed under TMDB's API terms for the purpose of identifying films shared by users. Corus is not endorsed or certified by TMDB or any film studio.
Additional album artwork (such as back cover images) may be sourced from Discogs and remains the property of the respective artists, labels, and rights holders.
Certain automated accounts ("bots") on Corus use artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to generate captions and descriptions. Content produced by these accounts is AI-generated and is clearly attributed to bot accounts. AI-generated content does not represent the views of Corus Media, Inc.
4. Content Standards
The following content standards apply to all User Content on Corus, including but not limited to posts, captions, comments, direct messages, voice notes, profile photos (avatars), bios, and any other material you upload, share, or transmit through the Service.
4.1 Nudity and Sexual Content
You may not post, upload, or share:
- Full or partial nudity, including exposed genitalia, buttocks, or female nipples (except in the context of breastfeeding, post-mastectomy, or gender-affirming care)
- Sexually explicit or suggestive imagery, including content that depicts or implies sexual acts
- Sexual solicitation or offers of sexual services
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including "revenge porn" or any intimate content shared without the subject's consent
- Sexual exploitation of minors in any form — this will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement
This applies to all content, including profile photos and avatars. Artistic nudity (e.g., album artwork sourced from Spotify or TMDB) displayed as part of third-party metadata is not subject to this restriction.
4.2 Violence and Graphic Content
You may not post, upload, or share:
- Graphic or gratuitous depictions of violence, gore, mutilation, or bodily harm
- Content that glorifies, promotes, or incites violence against any individual or group
- Threats of physical harm, whether direct, indirect, or implied

- Content related to terrorism, extremist organizations, or acts of mass violence
4.3 Harassment and Bullying
You may not:
- Target another user with repeated unwanted contact, messages, comments, or mentions
- Engage in or encourage coordinated harassment campaigns against any individual
- Post content intended to shame, degrade, humiliate, or intimidate another person
- Stalk, doxx, or publish another person's private information (including real name, address, phone number, or workplace) without their consent
- Create accounts for the purpose of harassing or evading blocks from other users
- Send threatening, abusive, or sexually harassing messages via direct messages or voice notes
4.4 Hate Speech and Discrimination
You may not post content that:
- Promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic
- Uses slurs, dehumanizing language, or symbols associated with hate groups
- Denies or trivializes well-documented acts of genocide or mass atrocities
4.5 Profanity and Offensive Language
While casual language is expected on a social platform, you may not use profanity or vulgar language in a way that is directed at another user with intent to harass, demean, or abuse. Excessive or gratuitous profanity in usernames, bios, or profile photos is not permitted. We reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that use language in a way that creates a hostile environment for others.
4.6 Minor Safety
Corus is committed to the safety of minors on our platform. In addition to the prohibitions on child sexual exploitation material (CSAM) described in Section 4.1:
- Content that sexualizes minors in any way — even if not explicitly nude or sexual — is strictly prohibited
- Adults may not send unsolicited direct messages or voice notes to minors they do not follow
- Grooming behavior — building a relationship with a minor for the purpose of exploitation — is prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement
- Users under 18 may have access to certain features restricted to protect their safety, as determined by Corus at its discretion
- We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, their account will be terminated immediately
4.7 Regulated Goods and Activities
You may not use Corus to promote, sell, solicit, or facilitate:
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons of any kind
- Tobacco, vaping products, or alcohol (except lawful brand accounts that comply with applicable advertising regulations)
- Gambling, betting, or unregulated financial schemes (including cryptocurrency pump-and-dump schemes)
- Prescription pharmaceuticals or unapproved medical treatments
- Stolen goods, counterfeit products, or fraudulent services
4.8 AI-Generated Content
Certain bot accounts on Corus use AI to generate content, and these are clearly labeled. If you post AI-generated content from your own account:
- You must not use AI-generated content to deceive others into believing it is authentic (e.g., fabricated quotes, fake screenshots, realistic but fictional events)
- AI-generated profile photos that impersonate real people are prohibited
- All other content standards in this section apply equally to AI-generated content — AI tools do not grant an exception to any rule
4.9 Misinformation and Deception
You may not:
- Impersonate another person, artist, brand, or entity
- Create fake or misleading accounts
- Spread dangerous misinformation that could cause real-world harm (e.g., false medical advice, election interference)
- Use manipulated media (deepfakes) to deceive or defame
4.10 Spam and Platform Abuse
You may not:
- Spam, send unsolicited messages, or engage in deceptive promotional practices
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, collect data from, or interact with the Service without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Circumvent any content moderation, blocking, muting, or safety features
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Use the Service to promote or facilitate illegal activity
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app
4.11 Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these standards, you can report it through:
- The in-app reporting feature available on any post, comment, message, or profile
- Emailing our Trust & Safety team at [email protected]
All reports are reviewed by our team. We may not be able to disclose the outcome of every report, but we take all reports seriously and will act in accordance with these standards.
4.12 Enforcement and Appeals
Corus Media, Inc. reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these content standards, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, enforcement actions may include:
- Content removal
- Account warnings
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination
- Reporting to law enforcement where required by law
Repeated violations or particularly severe offenses (such as child exploitation or credible threats of violence) will result in immediate and permanent account termination.
Appeals. If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may submit an appeal by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of the enforcement action. Include your username and a description of why you believe the action was made in error. We will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Appeals for content involving child exploitation, credible threats of violence, or illegal activity will not be considered.
5. Subscriptions and Purchases
Corus offers an optional paid subscription ("Corus Club") that provides additional features. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and pricing.
- Billing. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to Club features until then.
- Refunds. All payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies.
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes for existing subscribers take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice.
- Free tier. Corus's core features remain available without a subscription, subject to reasonable usage limits (such as daily post limits for free accounts).
6. Direct Messages and Voice Notes
Corus provides direct messaging and voice note features between users. Messages and voice notes are stored on our servers to deliver the service. We do not use message content for advertising. You are responsible for the content of your messages and must not use messaging for harassment, spam, or sharing illegal content. We reserve the right to review messages when investigating reports of abuse.
7. Copyright and DMCA
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on Corus infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to our designated agent at [email protected] with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the infringing material is located on the Service
- Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
We may remove or disable access to infringing content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users. We are not required to provide notice before suspension or termination, though we will make reasonable efforts to do so when practical.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Upon deletion, your profile, posts, comments, likes, saves, follower relationships, messages, and voice notes will be permanently removed.
9. Intellectual Property
The Corus name, logo, design system, and app design are the property of Corus Media, Inc. You may not use our branding without written permission. All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the Service belong to their respective owners.
In addition to the copyright protections described in Section 7, you may not use Corus to:
- Post content that infringes on any third party's trademark, trade dress, or other intellectual property rights
- Sell, promote, or distribute counterfeit goods or services
- Use another brand's name, logo, or likeness in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without authorization
- Reproduce, redistribute, or publicly display copyrighted material (including music, film, photography, or written works) without the rights holder's permission, except as permitted by fair use
10. Third-Party Services
Corus integrates with third-party services including Spotify (for song data and album artwork), TMDB (for film data and poster images), Discogs (for additional album artwork), Google (for authentication), OpenAI (for AI-generated bot content), Firebase (for infrastructure), RevenueCat (for subscription management), Resend (for transactional emails), and Cloudflare (for website hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Corus Media, Inc. is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
Album artwork, artist images, and song metadata are provided by Spotify and are used in accordance with the Spotify Developer Terms. All music-related intellectual property remains the property of the respective artists, labels, and rights holders.
Film posters, titles, and metadata are provided by TMDB and are used in accordance with the TMDB API Terms of Use. All film-related intellectual property remains the property of the respective studios, distributors, and rights holders. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Certain automated accounts on Corus use OpenAI to generate captions and descriptions. AI-generated content is attributed to bot accounts and does not represent the views of Corus Media, Inc. Your interactions with AI-generated content are subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of song metadata or any other content available through the Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corus Media, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amounts you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Corus Media, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution in the courts described below. You agree that any claims will be brought individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Corus Media, Inc. regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
